Home Canning Basics
This workshop will will help you understand and select among various options for food preservation, based on your goals and circumstances. We will explain the critical steps to ensure safety in the canning of acid, acidified, and low-acid foods. We will select produce from the farm, prepare it to be canned using each of these methods over three workshop sessions, and give you the product to take home with you. The workshops will be scheduled a the best common times in late September & October. The cost is $25 per session – you can sign up for one, two or three sessions.
