I learned so many things while living in Nigeria. Among the most important is that people do not live in their houses – they live out in the open. I saw death and dying, love and forgiveness, faith and betrayal, men fighting then embracing each other, right in front of my face. I remember their names: Sunday, Sunny, Ojo, Bela, Kristen, Tunje, Peter. Will you remember your neighbors when they are gone? Or is history just an “amenity”?
People need each other, and feed each other. Judgments are short lived and fall silent.
