Elizabeth Haskett and her Capricorn Rising partner Julia Weiner arrived at the farm this week. They were welcomed by a brood of bantam chicks that laid their very first eggs in celebration–beautiful pale blues, greens and pinks. The chickens (and their eggs) are smaller than the traditional breeds, but make up for it in good looks, as you can see from the portrait above!
Elizabeth and Julia are working with Pete this weekend to build “chicken tractors” that will enable them to move the birds around the pasture to enjoy a wide variety of bugs and plant life. All are delighted to be out and about on these beautiful spring days!
Eggs are available for sale at the Crows’ Feat Farm store – along with an increasing variety of seedlings and herbs. We are planning our first on-farm seedling sale for May 1st, so stay tuned!
